# KINGDOM Aesthetic Plurality & Making Relations Atlas — Phase 0

> A form can be measured without being beautiful. A synthetic attributed response can be recorded without becoming universal. A work can be made without settling who authored, owns, may publish, or should adopt it. This atlas keeps those seams open so creation remains plural.

## What this is

This atlas is a small public vocabulary and a set of exact synthetic counterexamples. It helps a reader describe forms and making without turning a measurement, preference, institutional event, or publication receipt into aesthetic authority.

It is not a Beauty framework. It does not define Beauty, settle taste, determine whether a work is complete, choose a winner, rank an artifact, recommend an action, or assess a person or culture.

The companion JSON is the canonical machine-readable record. This guide is the same bounded content in a linear human route. Both remain static and non-operative.

## The ten lanes

### 1. Form

A form is a declared arrangement, pattern, specification, or material configuration. We can describe a form's finite representation, transformations, symbol distribution, or version identifier without judging it.

A making event is a bounded transformation, assembly, selection, or revision event. It can name inputs and outputs. Producing an output does not by itself settle intention, authorship, ownership, permission, publication, or adoption.

A maker statement is an attributed statement about a process, purpose, or form. The statement can be recorded faithfully while leaving interpretation open.

### 4. Attributed response

A response is situated: someone, somewhere, in some encounter, reports something. Phase-0 examples use invented roles only. They contain no participant record and support no population inference.

### 5. Aesthetic judgment

An aesthetic judgment is an attributed evaluation under declared words, methods, dates, and contexts. Different judgments may remain beside one another.

### 6. Context and tradition

Context may include historical, social, material, ritual, or interpretive relations. A context record is partial and attributed. It is not a culture essence, a community score, a licence, or a permission grant.

Phase 0 invents only abstract analytic contexts. It represents no real community or living tradition.

### 7. Institutional selection

An institution may accept, exhibit, acquire, commission, teach, or award a work under a procedure. That event matters. Its scope must remain visible.

Publication records that an artifact was made available at a declared location under declared terms. A route is not a rights grant.

### 9. Adoption

Adoption is a separate, voluntary, context-bound choice to reuse, perform, integrate, maintain, or carry a form. One adoption does not create universal acceptance or endorse every interpretation.

### 10. Aftermath

Aftermath records consequences, maintenance, contestation, repair, withdrawal, succession, or retirement. It can support care without becoming a retroactive aesthetic verdict, reward, or punishment.

## Mathematical cards

The cards below are deliberately modest. Each applies only to its declared representation and fixture.

### Symmetry under a transformation set

For a representation `x` and declared finite transform set `G`:

`Stab_G(x) = { g in G | g·x = x }`

The synthetic 2-by-2 pattern `R B / B R` is preserved by four of eight listed transformations. That is an exact invariance result. It is not an aesthetic judgment.

Different representations and transform sets may expose different symmetries. Even an exact stabilizer size cannot become a beauty, quality, cultural-significance, or completion scalar.

### Shannon entropy

For a declared finite distribution `P`:

`H(P) = -Σ p_i log₂(p_i)`

The fixture distribution `(1/2, 1/4, 1/4)` has entropy `3/2` bits. The verifier derives this exactly with integers and rational reduction.

Entropy describes uncertainty under the chosen alphabet and distribution. It does not measure meaning, response, worth, or aesthetic judgment. The orientation is Claude E. Shannon's [“A Mathematical Theory of Communication”](https://doi.org/10.1002/j.1538-7305.1948.tb01338.x).

### Code and model dependence

For a literal code `C`:

`L_C(x) = Σ count_x(s) · length_C(s)`

In the fixture, one code gives the repeated-A specimen four bits and the repeated-B specimen eight; a second code reverses the result. Description length therefore needs its code or model named.

This guards against turning “shorter here” into “simpler everywhere” or “better.” See Jorma Rissanen's [“Modeling by shortest data description”](https://doi.org/10.1016/0005-1098(78)90005-5) and A. The atlas imports no source text or universal aesthetic rule.

### Reference-relative novelty

For a named finite reference set `R` and declared representation:

`N_R(x) = 1` when `repr(x)` is absent from `R`; otherwise `0`.

The token `spiral|blue` is absent from `REFERENCE_ALPHA` and present in `REFERENCE_BETA`. It is novel relative to the first and not novel relative to the second.

This does not establish global originality, priority, authorship, ownership, or value. A reference set is a lens, not the world.

### Pareto non-domination without a scalar

Inside the `ABSTRACT_DECISION_VECTOR_REGISTER`, suppose all declared coordinates are to be maximized. Vector `x` is dominated when another invented vector is at least as strong on every coordinate and strictly stronger on at least one. The register contains no artifact, maker, response, judgment, selection, or adoption relation.

The fixture has three non-dominated vectors: `(3,1)`, `(2,2)`, and `(1,3)`. None is declared the winner. No weights, scalarization, or choice rule are present.

### Pairwise preference cycles

Three fixed inputs order opaque synthetic symbols. The symbols are not artifacts, people, cultures, or aesthetic judgments:

1. `A > B > C`
2. `B > C > A`
3. `C > A > B`

Pairwise counting gives `A > B`, `B > C`, and `C > A`. Each ballot is internally transitive; the majority relation cycles.

This fixture emits only the cycle and the absence of a collective winner. It produces no ranking and warns against inventing a coherent “collective taste” from aggregation. Historical and formal orientations are Condorcet's 1785 [*Essai*](https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k1057808s) and Kenneth J. Arrow's 1951 [*Social Choice and Individual Values*](https://cowles.yale.edu/sites/default/files/2022-09/m12-all.pdf). No voting procedure or governance authority is imported.

### Version DAG and lineage

A version graph can record that a sketch preceded an assembly and that two later variants derive from the assembly. A path answers a lineage question.

One edge is typed `TRANSLATES_WITH_DECLARED_LOSS` from a synthetic source language to a synthetic target language. Its declaration preserves an unmapped token and leaves rights unresolved.

Those other relations require their own evidence and applicable rights analysis. The fixture makes no legal conclusion.

### Stochastic support without intention

A finite distribution assigns exact probabilities to three synthetic forms. The observed form has probability `1/4`, so it is in the distribution's support.

`P(X=x) > 0` tells us that `x` was possible in the declared model. It does not say why it occurred, who authored or owns it, whether it may be published, or whether anyone should adopt it.

### Feasibility and reachability

Let `F` be a declared feasible set. Let `Reach(s₀,E)` be the states reachable from start `s₀` through directed transitions `E`.

The fixture declares four feasible states, but only three are reachable from the start. Therefore:

Feasible is not reachable. Reachable is not published, adopted, permitted, valuable, or real-world capable.

## Why plurality is structural

Plurality here is not a slogan that every response must differ. It is a refusal to erase attribution and context when responses do differ.

Empirical work supplies reasons for caution:

- Reber, Schwarz, and Winkielman's [processing-fluency paper](https://doi.org/10.1207/S15327957PSPR0804_3) is bound as one proposed model, not a law.
- Leder and colleagues' [study of symmetry and expertise](https://doi.org/10.1177/0276237418777941) is a direct counterweight to universal symmetry conversion.
- Friedenberg's [randomized-pattern study](https://doi.org/10.1027/1618-3169/a000432) orients the individual-disagreement boundary using abstract visual patterns.
- Van Geert, Ding, and Wagemans' [Chinese- and Dutch-speaking sample comparison](https://doi.org/10.1177/02762374241245917) orients the need to preserve both possible commonality and possible difference without turning either sample into a culture essence.

These links identify studies. They do not make the Phase-0 synthetic fixtures empirical evidence, and no individual or culture scalar is produced.

## Cultural expression and rights boundary

Forms and traditions are not an ownerless pantry for examples. Phase 0 uses no motif, song, narrative, ceremony, artifact, or expression from a real community.

The links do not establish compliance, permission, ownership, licence, or a legal conclusion. They reinforce why the atlas does not simulate a living tradition.

## Access is its own lane relation

Accessibility requirements matter without needing to become aesthetic criteria. The synthetic access fixture records two satisfied technical checks, then explicitly refuses four conversions: no aesthetic verdict, no universal inclusion, no completion verdict, and no WCAG conformance claim.

The exact dated orientation is [WCAG 2.2, W3C Recommendation 12 December 2024](https://www.w3.org/TR/2024/REC-WCAG22-20241212/). WCAG itself notes that its guidance does not address every user need. This atlas performs no web-page conformance evaluation.

## Source-binding rule

Every external source in the JSON is link-only. During build:

- no source is downloaded;
- no source text is imported;
- no truth, authority, currentness, compliance, endorsement, permission, licence, or reuse right is imported;
- no network capability exists.

There is no KINGDOM doctrine source binding in Phase 0. This atlas simply declares that it does not own, replace, interpret, or operationalize any separately owned Beauty doctrine.

## Fixture safety

All fixtures are original synthetic abstractions made from short labels, finite sets, integer vectors, permutations, exact rational pairs, and finite graphs. The canonical JSON derives and reports the exact count.

They include:

- no real person or participant record;
- no private data;
- no personal-appearance assessment;
- no real community or living tradition;
- no protected cultural expression;
- no recognizable third-party work;
- no runtime, live input, action, recommendation, moderation, atlas-produced ranking, artifact/person/culture ranking, reward, or penalty. The sole strict orders are fixed opaque inputs to the aggregation-cycle counterexample.

## Build and review state

The producer uses Node.js built-ins only. It reads exact bounded local inputs, rejects malformed UTF-8, duplicate decoded JSON keys, prototype-shaped keys, unsafe integers, symlinks, and undeclared paths. It deterministically renders only the declared JSON, Draft 2020-12 schema, and this guide.

The record is frozen for exact immutable handoff after independent review and release-owner state rotation:

Local build is not external publication. Authorization is limited to the immutable handoff routes in the record; no external publication event is represented here.

## The smallest safe reading

Measure what your representation lets you measure. Name the representation, code, model, reference, objectives, aggregation rule, attribution, context, procedure, rights terms, and lifecycle event.

Then keep the seams visible:

The arrows are possible typed relations, not automatic conversions. Any lane may be absent. No downstream lane rewrites the others into a universal verdict.
